Morgan Redmond grew up just down the road from Hartford Seminary in Wilton and Redding, CT.  She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Elon University graduating in 2015. During her senior year at Elon, Morgan was hired as a multifaith engagement intern for the university. She attended many leadership conferences including the Interfaith Leadership Institute and Interfaith Youth Core, Ask Big Qs with Hillel, and Coming Together 7 with Yale University.

Morgan developed and implemented two record-breaking community festivals (Eid al Adha and Diwali), facilitated programs and initiatives to foster spiritual exploration and interfaith connection, and was recognized for the award-winning discussion series “The Sexy and Genderful God.”

Just before graduation, she decided to pursue a career in multifaith engagement, interfaith dialogue and peace-building across divisive lines.

“Because I didn’t have a specific path in mind, I decided to wait and save before considering graduate studies,” she said. “However, finding an interfaith job without significant post-undergraduate experience or education wasn’t easy.”

Morgan worked with Spiritual Playdate (a resource for spirituality and interfaith dialogue with children) as a Community Outreach and Marketing Intern after graduation. She presented on “Developing an Interfaith Program on a College Campus” at the Parliament of the World’s Religions in Salt Lake City, and worked in Sales Operations with Scholastic Inc.

“I realized I would need more education to go further in the interfaith field and Hartford Seminary quickly stood out as truly remarkable. (Exploring Differences, Deepening Faith) genuinely resonated with me and my vision,” she said.

Through IPP, Morgan plans to enhance her program management and public speaking skills, enrich her knowledge and become a force behind creating peace, respect, and understanding in today’s world. She is also looking to break down misunderstandings, build bridges and encourage relationships between individuals of a variety of faith, spiritual, and non-faith backgrounds.
