Building Bridges Seminar in Qatar 2013

Dr. Lucinda Mosher, Faculty Associate for Interfaith Studies, was a participant in the Twelfth Building Bridges Seminar, convening in Doha, Qatar, May 27?29. Founded in 2002 by the Archbishop of Canterbury and now under the stewardship of Georgetown University, these annual seminars bring together a select group of internationally recognized Christian and Muslim scholars for intensive study of texts from the Christian and Islamic traditions.

This year?s theme was The Believing Community: Christian and Muslim Perspectives. The three-day program includes public lectures, closed presentations, and private small group discussions. In past years, Building Bridges has explored significant themes in the interface between Islam and Christianity such as scripture; prophecy; justice and rights; tradition and modernity; and death, resurrection, and human destiny.

A participant in the 2011 seminar on prayer, Dr. Mosher has served since July 2012 as the project?s Assistant Academic Director, with responsibility for editing the Building Bridges Seminar proceedings for publication, and for developing and implementing pedagogical strategies for its library of print and online resources.
