Hartford Seminary Faculty Presented at the ICNA-MAS 38th Annual Convention

HARTFORD SEMINARY FACULTY PRESENTED AT THE ICNA-MAS 38th ANNUAL CONVENTION

The 38th Annual ICNA-MAS Conventionwas held in Hartford, CT on Memorial Day weekend, May 25 to 27, at the Hartford convention Center. This year?s theme is Islam: The Pursuit of Happiness. The ICNA-MAS convention provides an opportunity to listen to world renowned scholars with solutions designed specifically to address the issues American Muslims are facing today. Convention participants will discover innovative ways to prepare for today?s challenges and learn directly from Islamic scholars and experts from various disciplines including, religion, economics, finance, social work, child psychology, law, education, and many more. The ICNA-MAS convention offers over 50+ breakout sessions and a comprehensive agenda that includes keynotes, lectures, hands-on workshops, interfaith dialogue, matrimonial services, halal food, cultural bazaar and even Islamic entertainment.

Hartford Seminary was featured at a number of sessions at the ICNA-MAS Convention. President Heidi Hadsell spoke at the Inaugural Session, Saturday, May 25,th at 11:00am on ?Happiness: The Universal Quest.? At 2:30pm that day, Prof. Timur Yuskaev, Assistant Professor of Contemporary Islam and Director of the Islamic Chaplaincy Program at Hartford Seminary, participated in a panel discussion and spoke on “The Development of Islamic Chaplaincy in America: History and Future.” Hartford Seminary faculty and students also staffed a booth at the Convention to provide information for potential students.
