A former professor at Hartford Seminary, Dr. Clifford Green, was awarded a Doctor of Divinity honoris causa by the University of Aberdeen this summer. Dr. Green was given the award in recognition of his “lifelong services to Bonhoeffer studies and in particular his leading role in the production of the Dietrich Bonhoeffer Works English Edition.
“Over the last forty years, perhaps no scholar has done more in the English speaking world to advance the understanding of the life and work of Dietrich Bonhoeffer than has Professor Clifford Green,” said Dr. Philip Ziegler, Senior Lecturer in Systematic Theology at the University of Aberdeen. “The legacy of the German theologian, anti-Nazi resistance activist and 20th century Christian martyr continues to grow both in reach and importance.”
