Khalil Abdullah Joins Seminary as Major Gifts Officer

Hartford Seminary is happy to announce that Khalil Abdullah of Atlanta will be joining our Development Office as a Major Gifts Officer.

“Khalil’s talents and interests as well as his work experience and his experience as a religious leader fit very well with this position,” President Heidi Hadsell said.

Reporting to the Director of Development and External Relations, the Major Gift Officer will participate as a member of the External Relations staff team with special responsibility to develop programs for Islamic Giving.

Khalil is in the thesis stage of his Master of Arts in Religious Studies at Hartford Seminary with a focus on Islamic Studies and Christian-Muslim Relations. He has a BA in Journalism from the University of North Texas.

In addition to his experience as a management trainer for Barnes & Noble Booksellers in Atlanta, Khalil is a member of the Faith Alliance of Metro Atlanta, co-director of the Faith Institute for the Atlanta Masjid of Al-Islam, and has been a Teaching Assistant in the Building Abrahamic Partnerships program at Hartford Seminary. He was also a Scholar-in-Residence at the Youth Theological Initiative at Emory University and a researcher for the After Malcom Project at George State University.
