Hartford Seminary welcomes Liza Arulampalam as the new Coordinator of Student Services. A familiar face on campus, Liza was the International Peacemaking Program Assistant in 2012.
Liza has been closely involved in education and interfaith dialogue for nearly a decade. In addition to her duties as Student Services Coordinator at Hartford Seminary, she is also the Co-Pastor of Riverfront Community Church in Glastonbury.
Liza is a 2008 graduate of Emory University in Atlanta where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Religion, with a concentration in Islamic Studies, and Spanish. She went on to receive her Master of Divinity from Yale in 2012. Since then, she has taught at Achievement First Amistad High School in Hartford and was the Director of Graduate Support at St. Martin de Porres Academy in New Haven. Liza was also the Assistant Chaplain at The Taft School in Waterbury, as well as a Chaplain Intern at Hartford Hospital in 2011.
As Student Services Coordinator, Liza handles many student needs, programs, events and activities. She directs the weekly Holy Grounds Coffee House, Chapel, Graduation and Convocation while handling disability services and acting as liaison to the writing assistance program on campus. Liza resides in Hartford with her husband Arunan and their four children, all under the age of three, plus one rambunctious dog.
