Prof. Najib Awad teaches Christian Theology at Hartford Seminary, but he is also a highly regarded poet who often writes about the tragic situation in his home country of Syria.

Two of Prof. Awad’s poems, “Long Are the Shadows” and “Shoe of Blood” were recently translated into English and published online in World Literature Today.

According to World Literature Today, the two poems boosted the sites web traffic significantly and have already been shared tens of thousands of times on Facebook.
