Prof. Yahya Michot was interviewed for the show Circle of Insight on Spreaker.com about his research on the Islamic scholar Ibn Taymiyya, who lived from 1263 to 1328 during the times of the Mongol invasion.
The show, which also featured Anne Speckhard, Adjunct Associate Professor of Psychiatry at Georgetown University Medical School and Director of the International Center for the Study of Violent Extremism (ICSVE), was titled “Why Would Someone Stop Being a Terrorist?” During the show, Prof. Michot said Ibn Taymiyya’s teachings have been used inappropriately by some terrorists to justify their actions.
