Director of Library Services Hired With Eye Toward Online Learning

Hartford Seminary has hired Ann Crawford as Director of Library Services as it looks to expand its online course offerings, President Heidi Hadsell has announced.

Crawford, of Bloomfield, has considerable experience in library leadership roles, including her most recent job as Associate University Librarian for Planning, Administration & Personnel at the University of Hawai’i, Manoa, in Honolulu. She has also worked at the University of Connecticut School of Law and Trinity College.

“She knows Hartford Seminary and is excited to be a part of our mission,” President Hadsell said. “She will be focused on the collection – both physical and electronic — but also on  the library as a partner in distance education.”

She earned her BA from Harvard College and her MLS from Syracuse University School of Information Studies. She also has an Ed.M. from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and an MBA from the University of Massachusetts Isenberg School of Management. In 2016, she was a Leadership Institute Fellow of the American Library Association.

“I am excited to be joining Hartford Seminary and look forward to helping with the innovative and important work being done here,” she said.
