This letter was sent to Hartford Seminary students on Monday, Jan. 30.
Dear students,
I write because I want each of you to know (again) that in these days that are full of challenge and for many, real fear, the faculty and staff are here for you, (and for each other), ready to answer questions, help problem solve, or just talk. We are proud of who we are together – an interfaith and international community and graduate school, devoted to peaceful and constructive relations between communities, with a vibrant student population from all over the world, which we truly treasure. This is who we are, and this is who we will remain. Everyone is welcome. I have said all this before, and I will keep on repeating it. Remember please, you are in a community that cares about you and is concerned for your well-being. Students who are from countries on the list composed and published by the Trump administration, please be aware of the serious difficulties you may encounter upon your return, if you leave the USA. I know you know how sad and sorry we are for this awful situation.
