Professor Yahya Michot was invited to teach in Abiquiu, New Mexico, at the Dar al-Islam Teachers Institute from July 9 to 15.
He gave six 90-minute lectures on the following topics: Islam – Submission; Iman – Faith; the Islamic “Art of Living”; Islam in Europe; Islamic History through the 19th century; and Islam in the U.S.
Dar al Islam, its website states, is a “non-profit organization dedicated to cultivating greater understanding of Islam among Americans in order to establish our commonalities and build stronger relationships.” Its Teachers’ Institute “provides a broad set of information on Islam, including foundational principles, historical and diaspora based information, and discussion of current areas of interest.”
