Dr. Albakri Ahmad of Singapore Visits Hartford Seminary

A longtime friend of Hartford Seminary, Dr. Albakri Ahmad, Deputy Chief Executive of the Islamic Religious Council of Singapore (MUIS), had his first chance to visit the campus on Friday.

Dr. Ahmad met with President Heidi Hadsell and presented her with an engraved plate commemorating her retirement at the end of the 2017-18 academic year.

Dr. Ahmad also met with students, staff and faculty, reconnecting with some members of the Hartford Seminary contingent that traveled to Singapore in October 2016 as part of a longer trip that included Indonesia and Malaysia. The 2016 visit commemorated 10 years of friendship between MUIS and Hartford Seminary.

At least 21 Singaporeans sent by MUIS have graduated from Hartford Seminary over the past 10 years.
