M. Saud Anwar, Mayor of South Windsor and a Hartford Seminary corporator, has presented President Heidi Hadsell with a Proclamation thanking her for her service and congratulating her on her retirement, planned for June 30 of this year.
The proclamation reads:
WHEREAS, Heidi Hadsell, Ph.D., is President of Hartford Seminary and Professor of Social Ethics; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Hadsell has a deep commitment to interfaith dialogue and engagement, believing that in today’s religiously plural world, it is essential to understand and work with religions beyond one’s own; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Heidi Hadsell came to work for Hartford Seminary in 2000; and
WHEREAS, Before Dr. Hadsell came to Hartford Seminary, she served as Director of the Ecumenical Institute of the World Council of Churches, Bossey, Switzerland; and
WHEREAS, Dr. Hadsell taught at the Federal University of Santa Catarina, Florianopolis, Brazil, before joining the faculty of McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago, as Assistant Professor of Social Ethics in 1989; and
WHEREAS, At McCormick, Dr. Hadsell became Dean in 1993 and Professor of Social Ethics in 1994
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that I, M. Saud Anwar, Mayor of the Town of South Windsor, acting on behalf of the Town Council and the residents of South Windsor do hereby thank Dr. Heidi Hadsell on her dedicated service to Hartford Seminary, congratulate Dr. Hadsell on her retirement, and extend to her sincere best wishes for good health and happiness.
