Dr. Erica Dollhopf Appointed Director of UCC’s Center for Analytics, Research, and Data

Erica Dollhopf, Visiting Assistant Professor at Hartford Seminary and the Hartford Institute for Religion Research, has been appointed Director of the United Church of Christ’s (UCC) Center for Analytics, Research, and Data (CARD).

In addition to her recent work at Hartford Seminary, Dr. Dollhopf has been a Consultant and Senior Research Associate with the Association of Religion Data Archives (ARDA). She is also program co-chair with the Religious Research Association (RRA).

An announcement by the UCC about the new position cites Dr. Dollhopf’s “extensive research experience beginning with her early professional work years in research at Pennsylvania State University…She has authored a number of publications, has presented to many audiences, and has substantial teaching experience. Along with her role with the Religious Research Association, she is deeply involved with the upcoming Faith Communities Today (FACT) 2020 survey development.”

Dr. Dollhopf has a Ph.D. and M.A. in Sociology from the Pennsylvania State University and an M.A. in American Studies from Lehigh University.

As Director of CARD, she will “assist the denomination in making informed strategic decisions by gathering and reporting relevant trends within the UCC, working with constituents to determine data and assessment needs, developing metrics of impact and excellence as best practices for the denomination, and reporting on wider religious and societal trends as they pertain to the UCC and its ministry in the world.”
