Professor Deena Grant, Associate Professor of Jewish Studies, has written an article about this week’s Torah Portion (Exodus 1:1 – 6:1) called Questioning God’s Call: Moses Versus Gideon.

In her article, Professor Grant addresses the different ways that Moses and Gideon respond to different calls from God to deliver Israel from its enemies.

“Surprisingly,” she writes, “Gideon is more faithful than Moses.”
