Seminary Mourns the Loss of Corporator Lowell Fewster

Lowell Hart Fewster, 81, passed away on May 28, 2020, at his home at Seabury, a retirement community in Bloomfield, CT. A minister with a passion for peace and justice issues, he was a longtime corporator at Hartford Seminary.

An American Baptist Minister, Lowell served several churches before returning to his alma mater, Colgate Rochester Divinity School, to become an administrator, rising to the level of vice president for administration. In 1991, he was called as executive minister for the American Baptist Churches of Connecticut, which brought him to Hartford. He retired in 2004.

Lowell was an active member of the Hartford Seminary community who often attended events with his wife of 54 years, Julie. He will be greatly missed.
