Hartford Seminary Condemns Anti-Asian Violence

On March 18, the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Advisory Council issued the following statement on behalf of Hartford Seminary:

As an interfaith institution, Hartford Seminary cares deeply about the common humanity of all people and providing safe spaces for dialogue across differences. Therefore, we stand in solidarity with Asian and Pacific Islander Americans in condemning the recent nationwide increase of anti-Asian violence and join with them in mourning the recent senseless killing, in and near Atlanta, of six women of Asian descent. In this era of racial and social reckoning, it is vital that we acknowledge our nation’s heritage of prejudice against people of Asian and Pacific Islander heritage and redouble our effort to ensure that the United States is a place in which they may enjoy respect and safety.
