Hartford Seminary welcomes Michelle Federer as our full-time Assistant Director of Recruitment and Admissions.

Michelle brings a wealth of experience in recruitment and admissions to her role. Prior to moving to Connecticut in early 2020, she was a Senior International Admissions counselor at Robert Morris University, PA.

During her years at RMU, she handled graduate and undergraduate recruitment and admissions for domestic and international students. She managed records, determined eligibility for admission, and developed strategies to break into new markets. Her responsibilities included attracting and enrolling students from new markets in China, Nepal, Zimbabwe, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and other countries.

Michelle values and develops strong relationships across a myriad of university offices and with external constituencies. She also worked in the Admissions Office at her alma mater, Pitt University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Chinese language and literature with a minor in Religious Studies.
