Yehezkel Landau, Former Professor and Current Adjunct, Busier than Ever

Yehezkel Landau, retired Associate Professor of Interfaith Relations and Holder of the Abrahamic Partnerships Chair who still teaches courses as an adjunct at Hartford Seminary, has been busier than ever with speaking engagements and writing projects this year.

His critical response to the 2000 statement Dabru Emet (“Speak Truth”), a positive assessment of Christianity endorsed by over 200 Jewish scholars and rabbis can be found at this link. His reflection is on Christian solidarity with both Jews and Palestinians.

Dr. Landau also recently conducted an hour-long Muslim-Jewish dialogue entitled “On the Altar of Peace,” on the subject of Israel/Palestine, with Dr. Mahan Mirza, a 2003 Hartford Seminary graduate who is now executive director of the Ansari Institute for Global Engagement with Religion at the University of Notre Dame. That can be found here.

He also took part in a discussion on Feb. 28 sponsored by the Duke University Chapel adult forum and prompted by his introductory remarks entitled “Lent, Easter, Passover, and Ramadan – A Jewish Perspective.” That can be found at this link.

Finally, he recently wrote a response to a piece in the magazine Tikkun titled “The Tormented Dance of the Colonizer.” That can be found here.

Dr. Landau will be teaching again in the Summer Session. His course is Healing Our Divisions: Capacity Building for Interfaith Leaders.
