We are recognized worldwide for our Islamic Chaplaincy program, which offers students the opportunity to study with top scholars in a unique, multifaith environment.

Hartford Seminary has the only institution in the United States offering a fully accredited program in Islamic Chaplaincy, and our graduates are in high demand. For over 10 years we have been preparing leaders through our certificate and master’s programs with proven results.

This rigorous academic program includes many courses to broaden your knowledge of Islamic history and scripture, including Islamic History I (HI-624) and Readings In Islamic Law: Fiqh of Worship (SC-643). Students preparing to become Muslim chaplains gain hands-on experience by taking Field Education for Islamic Chaplaincy (GC-580)

Many of our classes are taught at our Macdonald Center for the Study of Islam and Christian-Muslim Relations, the longest running center of its kind.

Tell us about yourself and we’d be happy to send more information about the Islamic Chaplaincy program at Hartford Seminary.
