How To Apply

Applicants: Please contact Phoebe Milliken at pmilliken@hartsem.edu or 860-509-9552 before you apply for the 2020-2021 academic year.

While the funding for the IPP scholarships comes from a variety of sources, the application process for all scholarships is the same.

To be considered for the International Peacemaking Program (IPP), there is a two-step application process.  The first part is an academic application to Hartford Seminary; the second application is for one of a limited number of IPP scholarships.

Step 1:

You can only be considered for an IPP scholarship if you have been academically admitted to the Seminary. You can begin your academic application for an 18-credit Graduate Certificate in either Islamic Studies and Christian-Muslim Relations or in Interfaith Dialogue online here.

Director of Admissions and Recruitment, Tina Demo (tdemo@hartsem.edu or 860-509-9549), will be your primary contact for the academic application.

Step 2: Phoebe Milliken, IPP Coordinator, is your contact person for the second part of the process—submission of an application for the International Peacemaking Program scholarship. Once you have begun your application to the Seminary, contact Phoebe Milliken at pmilliken@hartsem.edu or 860-509-9552 to indicate your interest in IPP.   Two additional essays and an additional recommendation are required to complete your IPP scholarship application.  The recommendation should be from someone who can speak to your experience in and potential for interfaith leadership.
