You can only be considered for an IPP scholarship if you have been academically admitted to the Seminary. You can begin your academic application for an 18-credit Graduate Certificate in either Islamic Studies and Christian-Muslim Relations or in Interfaith Dialogue at this link.

Director of Admissions and Recruitment, Ms. Tina Demo, (tdemo@hartsem.edu)– will be your primary contact for the academic application.

In your application for admission to the Graduate Certificate program in Islamic Studies and Christian-Muslim Relations or Interfaith Dialogue you will be asked to provide the following:

Personal Statement
Please write us a personal statement of 1 page describing yourself and why you want to study at Hartford Seminary. 

Letter of Recommendation
We will need one letter of recommendation from someone who knows you in an academic capacity. The person writing the letter for you may email the letter directly to us at the address below or via email at admissions@hartsem.edu. 

Transcripts
Please send all transcripts to Hartford Seminary from each institution you attended. Please be sure the transcripts show all the courses you took with grades. Transcripts may be sent to Hartford Semianry directly from your previous academic institutions, or you may email scanned copies to tdemo@hartsem.edu . We do not need copies of your certificates. 

TOEFL Score
If English is not your native language, you will need to register and take the Test of English as a Foreign Language — also known as the TOEFL. Here is the link to learn about and register for the test. Please list Hartford Seminary as a recipient for your score.

If English has been the language of instruction for one of your previous degrees, you may be exempt from the TOEFL. Please read our English language policy here.

Application Fee
This fee is waived for IPP applicants; you may disregard this portion of the online application.
