The Hartford Seminary Library is a specialized research library supporting the needs of the Seminary’s community of students, faculty, and scholars. We provide an extensive collection of print materials on religion, with particular strengths in Islamic Studies, Christian-Muslim Relations, and Theology and Ethics. We subscribe to core print journals in these areas, and provide online access to a broad array of journals through our databases.
The Library has 2 primary study areas, one a quiet study, and the other a busier main reading room. Both areas are equipped with computers, and printing and copying is available in the main reading room. Our circulating and journal collections are downstairs in compact shelving, allowing us to keep the main spaces open and light-filled.
The Library is open over 68 hours each week, including evening and Saturday hours to accommodate the busy schedules of our students.
